Where to find your credit card security number depends on the card type:
MasterCard/EuroCard, VISA, Diners Club, JCB:
The last 3 digits of the number in the signature field on the back of the card.
The four-digit number right above the coinage on the front side of the card.
What is that security number anyway?
The security number is an additional number printed on the credit card. It is to be typed in by the customer during payment transactions.
Its purpose is to prevent fraudsters from using stolen or forged credit card data. The security number is not mathematically linked to the actual credit card number nor saved on the magnetic stripe. It will not be saved during payment transactions and does not appear on credit card statements.
