The CRJ200 Regional Jet is based on the Canadair Challenger design, which was purchased by Canadair from Learjet in 1976. It is a regional airliner manufactured by Bombardier, and based on the Canadair Challenger business jet. The CRJ Regional Jet consists of the CRJ100 to the latest CRJ1000. CRJs are used heavily by many operators around the world on what use to be shorter routes but after the introduction of the CRJs 800, 900 and 1000 they are flying route that would have normally be flown by larger aircrafts.
