Back Again

Dear Spreadshirt team,

I arrived in a heart clinic in Bad Segeberg (Germany) in October as my heart needed to be operated on.

It came as a shock for my family and me. The worry and panic were as to be expected, and then everything flew by really fast. The operation went well; I recovered quickly and was back on a normal ward after a week. Soon came the day that I could get up out of bed and walk around.

My son came to visit, bringing with him a white tracksuit top with a heart on the back. Standing out in large letters were the words “I’m back again!”. The joy this heartfelt present gave was indescribable, and I wore the jacket every day in the hospital and also through rehab.
I got told over and over by the ward sisters and other patients how cool the jacket was and continually asked where I got it from. The best compliment I received was from the ward doctor as he signed me out to be moved into rehab. He told me that the way I proudly walked around with my jacket and the phrase ”I’m back again!” had brought joy and fun onto the ward.
Today, I really believe that the positivity that this gift from my son created, helped in my quick recovery. A year has passed since the operation and I’m feeling really good. I’ve been a member of the heart sports group since January. For this reason, I ordered myself a new t-shirt yesterday with the same text and heart logo as my jacket.
