What is the Spreadshirt Designer and how can I make my own t-shirt here?
With the Spreadshirt Designer you can design and order your own t-shirts and other products from our apparel assortment. There is no minimum order: you're free to order just one, individually printed shirt.
- Choose a t-shirt from our selection. You don’t know which size you need? Find out by clicking on the small information mark next to the product name. Details of the weight and manufacturing can be found there as well.
- Choose a design. You can upload your own photography, or pick one out from our Design Network (see Spreadshirt Marketplace). To find out which designs you can upload to the Spreadshirt Designer, have a look at this FAQ item. For basic info on designs for Spreadshirt, click here.
- But text can also be nice. Choose a font and write what you want. Your design and text can be turned, mirrored or enlarged within the given print area.
- Once the t-shirt looks like you want, proceed to check out and order it.
Every personally designed article is an original: Your design will be placed on the t-shirt according to your instructions. Since this action is not automated, it is possible that there could be minor alterations. Also, it's possible that the design will look smaller or larger in reality. This is because the t-shirt example shown is always a fixed size (often "medium", sometimes "small").

What are the legal and ethical guidelines for designs printed at Spreadshirt?
Spreadshirt.com has specific rules regarding the types of graphics and subject matter permitted on items produced and sold through our service. These rules are divided into two categories: ethical guidelines and legal guidelines .
Ethical Guidelines
- We will not print: nudity. We will not print any body parts that would normally be covered by underclothing. We will not print very graphic artistic renditions of persons having sex or their sexual body parts. There will also be times when we will not print a picture of some sort of nudity just because it is in very bad taste .
- We will not print: child nudity .
- We will not print: hate material. Hate material is anything that speaks to hate of any people, creed or race .
Legal Guidelines
You must possess the full rights in order to use a design (picture, logo, text) in the Spreadshirt Designer , in your Spreadshirt shop or on the Marketplace .
Please double check the legal status or ask the owner for permission if you are not sure before using a design.
- We will not print: Unofficial merchandise .
- We will not print: Names, logos, pictures or other intellectual property of musical groups or musical artists .
- We will not print: Names, logos, pictures, or other intellectual property of sports teams, colleges/universities, clubs or organizations such as Boston Red Sox, Girl Scouts of America, or Princeton University .
- We will not print: trademarks, names or logos for companies. For example you can not use the name Coca Cola, Coke “It’s the Real Thing” or the design from the cans .
- We will not print: photos, caricatures, or other artwork depicting a celebrity. Just because you take a picture of a celebrity,it does not give you the right to use the photo on shirts, even if you alter the photo digitally. As expressed in the first four examples below, personal rights are still owned even if the person is no longer living .
