What are the different types of commission?

You can make money by selling your own designs and products at Spreadshirt, provided you are a registered member, through either the Spreadshirt Marketplace or a Spreadshirt shop. Learn more about selling through the Spreadshirt Marketplace.

Designs

When you offer a design on the Marketplace, you will need to set your design commission (max. $0-20). Every time a customer buys a product with your design, the commission you set will be credited to your member account under Statistics > Marketplace.

Products with your own designs

If you already know that your designs look best on particular Spreadshirt products, you can create pre-designed products using your designs. These products can be offered in the Marketplace or in your own Spreadshirt shop.

You can choose between Marketplace product commission or Product Commission Shop, depending on whether you offer your product on the Marketplace or in your shop. It is up to you as to which commission you would like to add and how much. Of course, you can offer your products and designs in both the Marketplace and your own shop.

(Tip: If you add your design to the Marketplace with a design commission, then the design commission will be added to all products using that design. Each time a products sells, you will earn the design commission as earnings, whether the sale is through your shop or the product in the Marketplace, so you can keep prices in your shop lower than on the Marketplace.)

Products with “borrowed” designs

There are many great designs in the Marketplace that are available for you to create products in your shop. After you have created a product with a design and added it to your shop, you can set your Product Commission Shop. Once a shop visitor buys a product in your shop, your member account is credited the Product Commission Shop set for the product and the designer is credited the Design Commission for the design purchased.
