Paddy, you are of course right, just as Santa has come to represent Christmas and the Easter Bunny for Easter. This is how society has come to decorate these days and we’re just going along with it, with no disrespect to St. Patrick intended.

If you were really 25% Irish, you would know that St. Patrick is a revered saint in Ireland. He has nothing to do with a “pot of gold” or leprechauns. And the shamrock (signifying the Holy Trinity) has three petals – your image has a four-leaf clover. Sad.
