Typography, as defined by the Merriam Webster Dictionary is the style, arrangement, or appearance of printed letters on a page or for all things considered, a t-shirt. Typography in itself is an art and Creative Bloq, recently shared a great piece on the rules and terms that every designer must know when understanding the fundamentals of typography. This art-form has carried over to the fashion industry and most strongly on our favorite wardrobe piece, the t-shirt. Our talented group of partners and designers have created typography designs related to sports, music, and pop culture just to name a few. But if you’re looking to be even more inspired, Typo Tees shares their collection of 1000+ typographic t-shirts for you to browse through, including a cheeky one worn by Keith Richards.
The use of text or copy on a t-shirt is certainly not new. The last rise to fame for the text tee was in the early 90’s, with the resurgence of the trend starting up again last year. The popularity of the text/message whatever you want to call it tee is quite simple, our brains are programmed to look for meaning. The faster we “get” this meaning the better. A typography tee achieves just that, the simple statement can be easily seen, read and serves a connection about how you feel at the moment on a myriad of different topics. Fashionising.com breaks down the statement and slogan trend by connecting street style, youth and the ability to easily relate to a message as to why text apparel is still popular for the 2014 season.
One of our top partners, wordsbrand.com who has a whole shop geared towards text tees, describes their designs as witty type tees and clothing that make you look awesome. And I can easily relate with their, “ I just want to drink coffee, create stuff and sleep” t-shirt, cause who doesn’t want to do this?!
Whatever your “type”, stating how you really feel is always a good practice, and positioning that message on a t-shirt may finally get you the reaction you have been waiting for.
It’s actually very complex in this busy life tto listen news on Television, so I just use webb for
that reason, and take the most up-to-date information.
