Football is an all-consuming, gigantic, undeniable part of most of our lives between April and February, and its biggest event will hit television screens across the world on February 1st. Whether you’re a fan or not, you will be touched by the event in some way shape or form: if you’re in it for the multi-million dollar commercials, you have a big bet on one of the teams, or you just like the halftime show, it’s important to know that the size and scope of this event can mean BIG money for your shop if you play your cards right. Let’s take a moment to explore Fantag, one of our more popular shops, and see how they capitalize on the American football craze.

Fantag is Spreadshirt’s foremost authority when it comes to professional sports appareland designs. They are licensed by the NFL Players Association (NFLPA) and Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA), which helps give them a leg up when it comes to using players’ names in their designs. Keep in mind, though, that a lot of Fantag’s designs don’t include players’ names, and that with a little creativity, you could come up with some designs of your own and get them in your shop in time for the big game. Let’s check out some of Fantag’s more popular design styles to see just what it is that makes them tops.

Every Play I'm Russellin'WORD PLAY: Fantag does a terrific job of utilizing players’ names is word-play designs. Check out this cool design that combines the name of a certain Seattle quarterback with some popular song lyrics in a cool and creative way. Put your thinking cap on and see what you can come up with!

Brady + Gronkowski = 6SIMPLE MATH: This ultra-clever design incorporates some simple math. Brady + Gronkowski = 6 is a minimalist but very effective way to say if you put this play and that player together, they’re scoring a touchdown, like it or not. Can you come up with something just as clever? Keep in mind though, Fantag has the rights to use these players’ names, so you may have to scratch your head a little more to work your way around that.

I Love EdelmanTHE CLASSIC I HEART: Ah yes, the timeless ‘I Love’ tee. A classic. Again, be careful working your designs around the player’s name here, but you could certainly say “I <3 New England’s Do-it-All Receiver”, or something to that effect, anyhow! 😉

I know I’ve said it before, and you are probably thinking to yourself, “Yeah, but they have the licenses to use these players’ names, and I don’t,” and you’d be right in thinking that, but put your mind to it and we’re sure you can figure it out.
