New Premium Advantages: Designer-Shops and More

New Premium AdvantagesStarting in early February, Spreadshirt made the full shop functionality—once exclusive to Premium Account holders only– available to all shop owners free of charge. Have you been able to acquaint yourself with the new advantages for your shop? We’ve put together a little hotlist that neatly summarizes all the great features and advantages you can now derive from the added functionality. You’re just a few steps away from better sales.

Access Multiple Shops from One Account

You can now use your Spreadshirt account to open and manage several Spreadshirt shops. Just go to your user area and click on the “Shops” button and then “Open a New Shop”. Of course you can also change the look of your newly-added shops, as well. Up to 5 of these shops can be run as Designer Shops with immediate effect. But what exactly is a Designer Shop?

The Designer Shop in a Nutshell

As opposed to the old ‘normal’ shop, Designer Shops don’t offer premade products. Customers can use the T-Shirt Designer to personalize all of Spreadshirt’s products – from baby bibs to hoodies – as they see fit. This is how they can shop your designs to create personalized clothing with any product they like. What’s good for you, is that you’re going to receive a fixed turnover commission of 20% plus the design commission that you’ve set yourself before.

How to Set Up a Designer Shop

By clicking on “Shops” in your user account, you’ll be able to get to the Shop Overview. Here you can find the option “Open New Designer Shop” at the bottom-right of your screen. The Designer Shop will be added in the list that you can see in the Shop Overview. Here in the overview you the Designer Shops are marked with a “+” before the Shop ID.

You can edit and manage a Designer Shop just the way you would any other shop and change the basic settings or the look of the shop. To do so, choose “See My Shop Overview“ and then check out the options in the “Appearance” section in the menu on the left.

…And How to Upload Designs

Click on the designs in your gallery that you wish to add, and add them to your Designer Shop by going to the “General Activities” section to the right of your design and choosing the Designer Shop option.

If you want to upload a new design, simply go to the Design Overview and click on “Upload Design”. Confirm that you own the copyrights for this design, and then choose a suitable name and at least three tags for the design. Having done this, a pop-up window will open to let you choose the Designer Shops you want to publish your design in. And of course you can always make changes in your Design Gallery at a later point in time.

Your Global Shop – Reach Customers in up to 11 Languages

Shop partners can now also make use of the extended language option to enter new markets: your products can hit a worldwide stage in 11 languages in Europe and 2 languages in the US! All you need to do is add a language menu to your shop, and this can easily be done by choosing the “Language and Currency” option in the left menu bar. Choose the languages you want to add, and off you go – your shop is international!

Do you like the new functionality? Have you set up your Designer Shop and gained first-hand experience already? We look forward to your feedback – any questions and suggestions for improvements will be greatly appreciated! Just leave a comment below.

  1. Hi @hwhit,

Thanks for the heads up! This was an oversight from our side. The information has just been updated to reflect the language availability differences between North America (2 languages) and Europe (11 languages). Thank you again!

    Best,
    Leila

  2. This blog entry says I can add a “language menu” to my shop that offers 11 languages. However, the only options I see are for English and French. My shop is a US (.com) shop with currency USD. Is this a factor? How can I get all 11 languages in my shop’s menu, instead of just English and French? Thanks.

  3. Hi Alvin and Lindsey,

Unfortunately the ability to change an existing shop form ‘normal’ to ‘designer’ is not currently in place. The type of shop you designate upon set up is permanent. An easy workaround for this issue is to copy your existing products into a new shop, with the designation you wish it to be under. Capabilities for the designation change area something we will look to address. We appreciate your insight into this issue.

    Best regards,
    Leila from Spreadshirt

  4. Hello,

Can I convert my current shop into a Designer shop? Or do I have to do it all over again? I have a normal shop with many products now and the thought of redoing it again is not pleasant. Thank you.
