Spread Future: Looking Ahead to 2016

blog_preview_us
2015 was an eventful year, but now that it’s coming to an end, our focus naturally shifts to what’s ahead. What does Spreadshirt have in store for you in 2016? What does your future look like as a Shop Partner or Marketplace designer? Let’s take a look in our crystal ball and see what lies ahead in 2016.
In our look back at 2015, we recapped all the exciting releases and developments that our hard-working crew pumped out over the year. Customers can quickly and easily buy, the SpreadShop is contemporary and tidy, the call went out for testers and feedback, we had design contests… it was a busy year! But don’t worry; we’re not resting on our laurels. We know there is still much work to be done, and so, we roll up our sleeves and take a look ahead at 2016.

The New Shop, Only Better

The SpreadShop is fully-functional, but it remains an optional setting and not all of its features and functions have been implemented. Coming in 2016, you’ll see the SpreadShop expand in both form and function, increasing your opportunities and decreasing your administrative burden. The faster we roll this out, the faster we’ll bid adieu to the old Shop version.

Faster, Intuitive Design Management

It’s not only minimizing the time it takes handling Shop administration that’s in focus, here; quick and efficient design management-from uploading to tagging and implementing- is also under the microscope for 2016. Our development team is already working on the process optimization of these aspects, and in an interview with our chief developer, you’ll find out more about a beta version that’s been put to the test in 2015. Look forward to it being available in its entirety in the course of 2016.

Top Topics in 2016

Profitable topics for next year include some popular classics: as they do every year, Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day and the Christmas season offer great sales opportunities for you. Pencil them in so that you can gear up your Shop in time and benefit from the windfall. You can always benefit from trending topics as well, so keep your ear to the ground for the next “big thing” and practice reactionary designing. Remember that a well planned implementation and social media campaign means that you’ll be in the money, as well.

2016 holds a lot of exciting changes and events in store for us, and we are sure that it’ll be just as rewarding for you. Stay up to date on the latest developments, releases and expert advice, and you’re sure to turn your Shop into a lucrative domain.

What are you looking forward to in 2016? Have you got any special plans, campaigns or design ideas already? Please do let us know below!

  1. I must agree with the user above! I have seen several of my designs stolen due to the high res images made available, when they are being stolen on foreign websites, it is almost impossible to report anything. Another recommendation would absolutely be to better the image previews on shirts. Not just adding a more realistic texture, but fixing the odd solid colors showing up for special prints like metallic!

Sorry for the double post above. Your comment-submitting code was having problems (some proxy error, it said), so I inadvertently did a double-submission.

What do I want in 2016?

    RESOLUTION LIMITATION CAPABILITY !!!!!!

In 2016, let designers limit resolution, changing design theft from today’s “quick, easy, unskilled” proposition (simple upscaling) into a “very slow, very very difficult, highly-skilled” one (complete re-creation of entire design by hand from scratch), which will deter almost all thefts.

I (and many others) have been waiting YEARS for this. Please get it done in 2016, so we can actually begin trusting our designs to Spreadshirt and selling through your platform. Thank you.

  4. What do I want in 2016? RESOLUTION LIMITATION CAPABILITY to prevent today’s fast and easy mass design thefts, which have resulted in Amazon and other places being awash in THOUSANDS of illegally-resold designs that were easily and quickly stolen from Spreadshirt designers due to the high resolution images Spreadshirt makes available, with takedown notices producing an endless “whack-a-mole” effect, with sellers just popping up again anyway, forever.

  5. Hi Harmen,

it depends a bit on which devices you mean. Creating products on iOS devices is planned for end of next year. For tablets it´s probably that it will be available next year, but for smartphones it will take a bit longer.

    Kind regards,
    Leila from Spreadshirt

  6. I would love to see sweatpants that can match the hoodies/crewnecks. Maybe even socks and car decals

You guys are awesome! Keep up the good work

  7. Will it be possible to create shop products on iOS devices next year? Really miss that feature and I know it’s possible because the normal designer already works on iOS ( although it makes plain backgrounds white…)

  8. I ordered two t shirts order#7354188-749924. not happy with one of the shirts. both were ordered X-large. design:nursekiss1b Premium T-shirt heather gray size is more like a small. I will need at least 2 sizes bigger for it to be the right size I did receive the shirts on time, in fact they were earlier then your date said (GOOD) please get back to me as soon as possible .this is a Christmas gift

    • Hey Delores, Thank you for letting us know. We will send a replacement for the grey shirt in 3X right away. With a little luck it might still arrive in time for Christmas!
