Teach Me How to Promo. Teach Me, Teach Me How to Promo

Teach Me How to Promo. Teach Me, Teach Me How to Promo

The old adage says, “when you learn how much you’re worth, you’ll stop giving people discounts.” We disagree. The sky is the limit when it comes to your Shop, and since there’s no ceiling, discounts and promos can only help your business continue to grow!

Why should you use promos?

You may be skeptical about the financial benefits of a promo, but you’d be surprised to learn that many buyers rely on these discounts. In fact, up to 50% of consumers admitted that they only make a purchase when there’s a discount!

As competition in the world of e-commerce is fierce, your customers may need that final push through checkout. Fortunately, promotions are the perfect persuasion tool, and you’ll find that these customers are more willing to commit to a purchase when they’re saving money.

There are several benefits to offering (and marketing) Shop promotions:

  • They’re effective
  • They’ll boost traffic and guide new customers to your store
  • They’ll boost your revenue

Spreadshirt regularly runs promos, but mind you, these promos aren’t effective by themselves. They require some effort from the seller to be effective, but even a bit of focus could lead to money in your pocket!

Where do you find promos?

You can constantly stay up to date on Spreadshirt’s discounts by visiting the Dashboard of your Partner Area.

You need a game plan

You’ll need to devise a game plan before diving in to the wonderful world of promotional persuasion. Assuming you have a marketing calendar, there are several important dates that you should figure out:

  • When the promo runs
  • When you’ll be campaigning/promoting
  • How much time you’ll need to prepare

Generally, it’s a good idea to begin promoting discounts several days before they start, and you should continue advertising throughout the promotion. It’s tough to find that perfect balance, as you don’t want to be too early or too late with your advertising. Ultimately, practice will make perfect.

You’ll also want to figure out which social media platforms you’ll be advertising through. Regardless of which channel(s) you use, it’s a good idea to opt for a service like Buffer, which allows you to schedule posts ahead of time.

Make it your own

Spreadshirt will provide the promos. The responsibility to alert your shoppers falls on you! When making your game plan, remember to:

  • Push your specific brand
  • Embrace some clever visual aspects

For instance, if a holiday is coming up, you could consider revolving the promo around the big day. You could also adapt your photos or banners to help promote the discounts, and you could always push pictures of your available items. Of course, one of the most effective promotional strategies is utilizing real people and real stories, as this allows potential customers to better connect with the overall sentiment. If you’re in need of any images, check out a service like PlaceIt, which will provide you with the perfect model images.

Customers aren’t going to purchase products if they don’t understand your theme, and there’s an improved chance they’ll make a purchase if they’re fully aware of the promotion.

What else?

There are several other strategies you could consider as you’re planning for the upcoming promotion:

  • Recruit any social media influencers who you may be collaborating with to help with advertising
  • Consider different game plans based on the length of the promotion. For instance, a flash sale leads to urgency, while a longer promotion allows you to craft a story or narrative.

The promo has ended… what now?

Just because the promotion has ended, it doesn’t mean your work is done. Plan ahead! It never hurts to devise a game plan for your next promotion, and a clever strategy will help boost those sales through the roof!

Phew! That’s a lot to take in, but you shouldn’t have any issues implementing these tips. Rather, stick to your gut and you’ll be fine!
