Calling all current and future Shopify store users! Hoping to take advantage of Spreadshirt’s print-on-demand (POD) services?

We’ll soon be releasing a new app that will seamlessly integrate with your Shopify store, giving you unparalleled access to our POD services. Previously, we only provided these advantages to those who had a Shop through Spreadshirt. Now, we’re excited to be adding Shopify to the mix.

Before we release the application to the general public, we’re searching for users to participate in our closed beta test. If you decide to participate, you won’t only have early access to all the new features and amenities…you’ll also receive a special pricing offer. In other words, you won’t want to miss out on this exclusive opportunity.

Best of all, you’ll get a jump on using Shopify’s premier POD service. We boast:
Fastest production times: we’ll have your orders out of the facility within 48 hours.
Industry’s lowest return rate: we have a <0.8% return rate per 100k+ products.
Unbeatable pricing: our product prices are equal to or superior to those of our competitors.

We’ve got everything you could possibly want from a POD app, as well as a whole lot more.
If you’re interested, visit https://www.spod.com/beta-installer to take a test drive with the app. It’s fully functional - don’t be afraid to take orders from your customers with it.

In case you don’t have a Shopify account you can signup for a trial here: www.shopify.com

We hope to see you there!

This is great! I’ve been playing around with the integration so far and am noticing that not all design options are available as they are within spreadshirt. Any idea on if all the designs will eventually be available?

Hey - thanks for your feedback  Are you referring to the products or designs beeing offered? Let me try to explain both:

About the products:

Our vision is to offer all merchant an App that automatically routes the orders to the closest facility of the customer. So, you as a merchant don’t need to worry about our EU and NA platform, you’ll have just one Shopify App installed that handles everything for you.

Therefor we need to limit our assortment to the products that we have in all production facilities available. Although the App is currently only connected to the US facilities we decided to limit it already, so that we don’t run into any tricky migration once adding our EU facilities.

Please share with us any product you’re missing right now, so we can put that on our list “products to be added”!

About the designs:

The designs offered in the design tool are limited right now to the ones owned by Spreadshirt without a commission. The reason we can’t include any partner design yet is that those will have a commission set by the partner that can change anytime he edits it.

Let’s assume a Shopify Merchants creates a product with a marketplace design of $1 commission and sets his end customer price to $20 and free shipping, leaving him a margin of $10. This margin needs to cover his costs for shipping as well as any marketing costs. Now the designer chooses to increase his commission to $5. This wouldn’t increase the end-customer-price, as we don’t have any control about the pricing like we do on our own marketplace. Therefor the increase would directly cut into the merchants margin. Also, he would not notice this until he receives our invoice - worst case he would sell tons of products with a negative margin.

Therefor we decided to limit the design database for the start. We’re going to review the use case again once we have more user feedback.

Install error:

message “Failed to get AuthToken from Shopify: 400”
errorCode “FF-0302-0003”

So it appears to have installed even though the error message showed. Feedback/issues:

  1. Vector images don’t upload. They display the loading image forever and eventually just disappear with no message.
  2. When go back and forth between product details and editing in the tool you lose your work which is annoying.
  3. Can’t select default color. This is important, don’t make people go and edit a product to do this.
  4. You put “Spreadshirt” in the default product description.
  5. After add a product and want to select view product it should open in new window.
  6. None of the links work: Get a sample, Learn about Shipping, Tiered Pricing, Send an email
  7. Some products variants added with zero inventory. Why not warn before adding products with zero stock. When does that get updated, do you do it?
  8. Images aren’t loading in the tool to choose products.

Hey Customtee,

Thank you very much for the feedback.
The error message is really strange and we will check this in detail.

The variants do all have an automatic stock update. If there have been some with 0 stock, this means that they have not been fully updated. This is related to the API restrictions with Shopify.

We will look into all of the topics and provide a new version as soon as possible.

Thank you very much for the support!

Hello Spreadshirt

I am not a shopify user (yet), but looking forward to a possible Woocommerce integration.
Maybe you could answer my questions regarding Shopify, so i can think about an integration on my end.

  1. Can i have “finished” products in my Shopify store or only the designer?
  2. Will item prices in my Shopify store include Spreadshirt commissions and Spreadshirt will pay them out as if an item has been sold trough the Spreadshop or does Spreadshirt only charge the Net amount for a product and the income is directly generated in my Shopify store?

Thank you for your kind help.

Regards

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Happy to help here.

  1. Yes, you can have the finished products down to individual color and size selection.
  2. You’re going to get the customers money directly first, than we’ll bill you the costs for product, print and shipping once the order is shipped. Its up to you how you set your pricing - even for shipping you can decide to go “free shipping” and add another margin to the product price to cover the costs. We’re having a slightly different pricing scheme than the Spreadshop - you’ll pay for a product incl. print a much lower price. If you’re selling larger volumes you’ll also get even more discounts on that base price. Please find here our product catalogue with the detailed pricing information: SPOD Product Range

Shopify offers a 14 days trial period - that should give you a good idea to test any behaviour in detail. If there are more questions feel free to reachout to us anytime

Hallo Claudia

Hm, i am happy to hear this at some point but am a bit confused as well. Why? Because this is exact the way i am selling for/from Spreadshirt since the beginning.

Spreadshirt always told (and keep telling) me, that this is not possible. But i am trying again to explain how i sell Spreadshirt items:

  1. Having a Webstore on my own website to create some sort of brand.
  2. People by from my own site and pay me directly.
  3. I have to log into my Spreadshop account and order my own item. Off course without a commission on them.
  4. I handle all complaints and conversation with my customers directly
  5. I do not get any discount no matter how many orders i place, as i do not have any commission on my items they do not classify as “sold in Spreadshop”.

So, the model with Spotify is exactly what i am doing with the only difference, that i do not send my orders trough the Shopify API connection to Spreadshirt, but by manually placing the order in the Spreadshop backend.

Question:

Why do i not profit from the lower prices or volume discounts like other selling outside Spreadshop?

Please also see my other post regarding this issue here:

Thank you Claudia for your kind support.

Einen schönen Tag dir

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

sorry for my late reply - I was out sick for a while. Let’s move that conversation to a more private channel to get it sorted. Check your inbox for an email from me.

Hello,
so I hope so. that I have the comfort of the current spreadshirt t-shirt designer. So I take my design and project this on all sorts of products and can also offer them so conveniently. In addition, I hope I find what I find important to be able to offer eigine products.

I am proud to wear keyrings with my small cnc router and my laser engraving device. I would like to offer these.

if necessary, sometimes floor mats.

Is it possible to do that with the designs and the products anyway?

hallo,

Hi,

with our Shopify App you’ll create your products with a Designer Tool very similar from spreadshirt.com. The App also handles synchronization of products and orders between Shopify and Spreadshirt platforms.

What we don’t offer yet is that you can customize products outside our assortment, see our product range.

However, if you want to add your own keyrings, etc. you can simply add them to your Shopify store. Than you’ll have one storefront including all your products.

To get to know better the possibilities of Shopify - please refer to their page They’re also offering a free trial period for all new merchants, so you can test risk-free.

Hi,

Hi Jsign,

the products in our designer-tools need to be only spreadshirt or spod products, there is no option to add your own product types directly into the t-shirt designer, like key rings, and customize them with our designs or text.

The novelty with our Shopify App is that you can have one store with one checkout and offer our and other products there to your customers. With the Spreadshop you can only offer Spreadshirt Products.

I hope that answers your question

Hi,

yes, I already understood that. the question was, if you can transfer the current shirts from the spreadshirt shop and the kompfort by creating the spreadshirt products in the shopify shop and not have to recreate each product.

I would like to do so and then additionally offer my own products in shopify.

Sorry for the misunderstanding!

A migration feature, to move products from an existing spreadshirt account to a fresh installed SPOD app, is not live yet. The team will work on that, but I can’t give you a precise date at the moment when this will be usable.

that’s enough for me. I just wanted to know if this is possible then. that would be genail. I think that’s really cool with spreadshirt and would like to take over and maintain the complete product range. I’m just so easy just to sell a few egg products with, without the customer to present 2 different shops on one page.

Is the customizable tool available to integrate with Shopify through SPOD or can we only sell already designed (ours or yours) merchandise without any customizing of any kind?

hi, is there a timeline for the release, especially for europe / germany?

You’ll be able to offer customization to your customers through our Shopify App soon. We don’t have an exact release date, but its sceduled for March/April. I suggest you’ll install the App to receive our newsletter for updates.
