What is the Market place and must you use it?

Hi, Like many, I sell on other sites just set up a shop on Spreadshirt. I have no idea what the Marketplace is other than to sell on Amazon and eBay. I don’t sell on either. Is it a good idea to use the marketplace (select it) when uploading and if I do choose it does Spreadshirt pushover my design on to those sites for me? Or must I do it???

If I just choose my spreadhsirt shop will I even get found on the www even with tags or is spreadsheet only helping people who choose the marketplace??? Thanks for any help.

Ahoy @Teetasticstore,

it does not lie in your hand wheather your designs will be sold on amazon or not. Only sucessful designs will make it up to amazon.
Our marketplace is just our own website and each domain (US, Canada-french, Canada-englisch & Australia) has its own website where you can sell your designs. other than in your shop you dont have to generate the traffic to those sites as we do all the marketing to bring customers to our marketplaces. But of course the competition is much higher and a sale is not granted as there are thousands of other designers and millions of other designs next to yours.
So Marketplace is just another point of sale and works different from the shop. The criterias for the uploads of your designs are also a little higher than for your shop. On the marketplace you can also not set the prize for your designs/products - all prizes are fixed.

I hope this helps a bit to understand the difference between shop and marketplace.
Let me know if you need further information.

Best
Rico

Hi rico, Can you please give me more information about the marketplace as opposed to the spreadshirt shop, i am knew and are not aware of these details.
kind regards
Elida

Ahoy Elida,

on the following page you can open an account with us.

On the top of this page you will be asked if you want to sell on our marketplace or if you want to open your own shop.
But don’t worry - no matter what you decide - in your partner area you can always add the other sales channel later.

If you decide to sell on our marketplace, all you have to do is upload your designs to us. They will then appear on spreasdshirt.com, on https://www.spreadshirt.com.au/ (Australia), on T-shirts personnalisés | Spreadshirt (french Canada) and on https://www.spreadshirt.ca/ (Canada).
We make sure that many customers are on these marketplaces every day, so you don’t have to invest anything except for the design creation and you don’t have to do any marketing. You need a little luck and patience until the first sales come or customers are interested in your designs.

If you open a shop, however, your designs will not end up on our marketplaces, but in a shop whose name you define yourself - accordingly, the Internet address for your shop will then contain your shop name.
For your shop you have to set and define some things first. How should your start page look like, how are your products and designs displayed and so on.
In addition, customers do not come to your shop on their own - you have to make sure that your shop is found. You have to share your shop link, possibly advertise via Google or FB, use social media and so on. This is the only way to make sure that enough customers find your shop and buy products. This is much more difficult than in the marketplace, but on the other hand you have no competitors in the shop. In the shop, customers only see your designs, while they see designs of several other designers on the marketplaces.

I hope this is understandable.

Greetings
Rico
