Spreadshirt honored for best Shopping – Tablet & All Other Devices in the 18th annual Webby Awards and drives campaign to get out the Vote

Boston, MA April 10th 2014 – Spreadshirt is honored to be included in the elite group of companies in the 18th Annual Webby Awards for Best Shopping – Tablet & All Other Devices Category. Hailed as the “Internet’s highest honor” by The New York Times, The Webby Awards, presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS), is the leading international award honoring excellence on the Internet. The IADAS, which nominates and selects The Webby Award Winners, is comprised of web industry experts, including media mogul Arianna Huffington, Skype CEO Tony Bates, Mozilla CEO and Chair Mitchell Baker, Instagram co-founder Kevin Systrom, mobile-phone inventor Martin Cooper, and Creator of the Jif Steve Wilhite. Only 15% of entries are awarded nominee status and partake in the customer favorite voting process.

Spreadshirt, the e-commerce platform for creating, buying and selling ideas on things that consumers love to share, wear, and carry, is a global company with US headquarters in Boston, Massachusetts and US production facilities in Greensburg, Pennsylvania and Henderson, Nevada. The company entered the 2014 Webby Awards with their touch optimized t-shirt design tool. This state of the art tool was developed completely in-house, delivered ahead of predications, and services 100% of all tablet users entering the Create-Your-Own area of the website. Even shortly after the initial release, the application realized a higher Add2Basket conversion rate than the existing Flash based tool, and averaged 2 million visits per month in 2013.

The 18th Annual Webby Awards received 12,000 entries from over 60 countries and all 50 states. From the 12,000 entries submitted, fewer than 15% received this honor and were deemed an Official Honoree.
