Best cross channel customer experience in e-commerce with mobile optimization
Spreadshirt, the leading global ecommerce company, is pleased to roll out unprecedented features on their platform, as continual investments have made them the best in class for connecting their community of buyers and sellers. This latest enhancement features an optimized social sharing function on the mobile marketplace and in the mobile view of the shop.
Spreadshirt is hyper-focused on optimizing all offered services to seamlessly connect global buyers and sellers regardless of device. “For e-commerce companies, a smooth mobile usage on the platform is essential, as sales via mobile devices will rise up to more than 50 percent in the next few years,” explains Philip Rooke, CEO of Spreadshirt. “Social networks are very valuable as touch points into the buying process and must be fully integrated into the customer journey.”
Key features of the new social sharing function include prominent placement of icons on product pages so that users of mobile devices can share their products quickly and easily. In addition to the ability to share products via email, other options for social sharing include Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp, Google+ and Pinterest. The inspiration to enhance social sharing functionality came from a very clear trend of global fans sharing their favorite news stories or cute designs. It is a natural fit given the mission of Spreadshirt to share and create great ideas.
A/B tests indicate:
- social sharing traffic on the mobile marketplace can double in a one month period
- conversion rates are constantly high
“Our A/B tests have shown that smartphone users like to share their products with friends via social networks and buy them afterwards via desktop. In this context, the merger of the two channels desktop and mobile in the buying process becomes especially clear,” explains Bettina Sutter, Senior Product Owner at Spreadshirt. “It became crucial for us to improve the customer journey over a variety of devices to keep our customers delighted and engaged.”
Spreadshirt plans to extend the sharing functions to complete listing pages and deliver within the next few months. This will allow a user to share not only single products, but also complete topic pages like “Avengers T-shirts” with their friends and other fans. Most notably, the international ecommerce company works on the local adaption of the sharing features for different countries; allowing for strong country specific network integration. Spreadshirt is active in 19 markets and 12 languages.
