Thermal Sublimation

Thermal sublimination is a printing technique used on mugs, cups and cases (iPad, iPhone, Kindle etc.).

The design is first printed inverted onto a transfer foil. Then it is pressed onto the product using high temperatures. A special layer on the product reacts with the color pigments and permanently binds with them.

Note: The optimal resolution for prints with thermal sublimation is 400 dpi. If your graphics have a higher or lower resolution, this is bound to influence the quality of the print.

The result is integrated directly into the product's surface - the design does not protrude from the product.

Note: White elements of the design are not printed with thermal sublimation. Therefore, the base color of the accessory being printed will appear through where white would normally be. The exception to this would be our full color mugs where all colors in the design are printed.
