Spreadshirt celebrates the most universal fashion garment of the decade!
Boston,MA – June 14, 2012 – Fashion’s most popular, enduring and expressive wardrobe staple – the beloved T-shirt – will once again be feted on the first day of summer, June 21, 2012, in an international public celebration marking the fifth annual International T-shirt Day. This year, free public events will be held in Leipzig and Greensburg, PA—the world headquarters and U.S. production facility of Spreadshirt, the leading multi-channel clothing-commerce platform for creating, buying and selling personalized apparel.
“T-shirt designs, slogans and messages tell a story about the person wearing them,” said Mark Venezia, Spreadshirt VP and one of the founders of International T-Shirt Day. “We think the longest day of the year is the perfect day to encourage t–shirt lovers and fans worldwide to celebrate and show their love of tees in their own special way, through events or activities wherever they may be that day.”
In addition to public and virtual events, all are encouraged to enter the T-Shirt Day Photo Contest by simply uploading a photo to the Facebook photo competition at T-Shirt Stories for a chance to win a year long t-shirt flate rate and other prizes. The three categories to enter include: T-Shirt Rebel, DIY and Favorite T-Shirt.
The public events will range from a “carnival-like” party in Leipzig to an open house event in Greensburg, complete with vendors, refreshments, and a photo corner. Each event is free and open to everyone and will, of course, include free t-shirts—both pre-designed and design-your own—to commemorate the occasion. T-shirt photos will be uploaded to the International T-Shirt Day Facebook page throughout the day.
