Jürgen Gauger becomes COO of the multi-channel clothing commerce platform
Berlin/ Boston/ Leipzig, July 7, 2011: Today Spreadshirt officially announces that Jürgen Gauger has been appointed Chief Operating Officer. The former production manager’s promotion gives direction to the company’s goals and aspirations (see Announcement of May 23 2011).
The announcement of promoting Gauger to COO is Spreadshirt’s response to the steady growth of its clothing commerce platform as well as Gauger’s marked contribution to the same. The current business year has seen an increase in product sales of some 30 percent so far, and it is expected that sales volumes rise to 3 million products within the next 12 months. This continuing surge in revenues has already led to an expansion of the company’s production facilities in Greensburg, Pennsylvania (USA) and Legnica, Poland. The company is also considering the establishment of a further production plant in North America as well as a third site in Europe.
Company CEO Philip Rooke said that “Having to expand the limits of production due to substantial growth is a problem that we really don’t mind, and we are confident that Jürgen is the right person for this position to take us forward. Acting as COO, he will make sure that we will be able to maintain our high production standards at higher volumes in all of our locations. This will in turn lead to the company being able to provide an even better service for our customers.”
In 2009, Gauger joined Spreadshirt as Global Production Director. Over the past year and a half, his main responsibilities have focused on optimising processes and quality standards at the company’s production sites in Leipzig, Legnica and Greensburg.
According to Gaugner: “We are a rapidly growing company, and it will be our main challenge to get our production capacities in line on a global scale. This is important as we want to make sure that we can provide a fast delivery service whilst maintaining a high standard of quality. It will be a priority to accommodate the substantially improving proportion of digital print in our production.”
Due to increasing demand, Spreadshirt has already been expanding its production capacity for digital direct print by 100 percent in North America and by 300 percent in Europe.
