Get A Kick Out of This!: The legal info you need for your World Cup Designs

I can hardly believe it’s been 4 years since the last World Cup; it kind of feels like I watch it every summer. Did you know that the World Cup is THE SINGLE MOST WATCHED SPORTING EVENT IN THE WORLD? Seriously! An average of 715 million people watch the World Cup—that’s over FIVE TIMES as many people watch the Super Bowl and the World Series COMBINED! So yes, now would be a good time to start coming up with some World Cup designs for your shops. It’s pretty popular.

There are a lot of rules and regulations you need to know if you’re going to get your creativity on surrounding the World Cup:

• The official FIFA logo and slogan, as well as any word combination such as “All in one rhythm”, “Football World Cup”, “Brazil 2014” or abbreviations such as “WC 2014” are unusable.

• Spreadshirt cannot condone unauthorized distribution of trademarks, and this is also true for logos and brands of FIFA’s sponsors, partners and other trademarks.

• A comprehensive list of FIFA partners can be found on this site: http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/organisation/partners/index.html.

• More information about image and word trademarks can be found on the official FIFA homepage.

• Registered trademarks can always be examined on the US Registered Trademark page.

As always, you can contact our customer service team with World Cup design questions or any other Spreadshirt question you have at 800-381-0815 Mon-Fri, 8am – 8pm.

Oh and btw, GOAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLL! GOAAAAAAAALLLLLLLL! GOAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLL!
