A Marketplace Update Regarding COVID-19

This blogpost will be continuously updated to include all relevant information and changes to the Spreadshirt Marketplace. Please save this article and check back from time to time.

UPDATE March 24^th, 2020:

We’ve now reopened both of our factories in the United States (hooray)! After legal clarification by the Nevada and Pennsylvania governments, we are now able to operate our facilities by enacting strict health and safety guidelines.

By keeping our production employees at a distance of 6 feet, sanitizing surfaces at the beginning and end of shifts, and promoting hand washing, we are able to both keep our employees safe and resume producing orders for your customers. Here is the full list of safety guidelines from the CDC that we will follow.

As you know, the situation surrounding COVID-19 is very dynamic and can change quickly. Please note, that while we were able to reopen our factories there are still a few things that will stay the same. For example, we will temporarily not be running any promotions on Spreadshirt.com. Additionally, you can expect delivery times to be longer than normal.

We are taking every precaution to ensure the health and safety of our production employees and their communities and are happy to see products run through our facilities again and land safely at your customers’ doorsteps.  We’ll certainly keep you up to date on anything that affects you and your customers.

For our EU platform: As of today, in the EU our factories are operating normally.

UPDATE March 20th, 6:30PM EST:

Governor Sisolak of Nevada just released an emergency directive that ORDERED non essential businesses to close doors. This means that both our production facilities in Greensburg, Pennsylvania and in Henderson, Nevada need to remain closed for the next weeks. Businesses who ignore this will be faced with civil penalties and revocation of business licenses. Unfortunately this also means, that we currently cannot process any orders of your customers. This will be communicated in the check-out and in a banner that they will see on the Spreadshirt Website. We’re very sorry to share this news but the safety of the public, our customers and our staff is our #1 priority. We’re confident we can all get through this together and we appreciate your patience. We will communicate with all of you as soon as we are back up and running. In the meantime please send any of your questions or concerns to service@spreadshirt.com or contact us on our forum.

Our number one priority is the health and safety of our community, from our employees in our offices to our Customers, Designers and our suppliers.

UPDATE March 20^th, 2020:

Updates for our North American Platform

Our production facility in Greensburg, PA has been temporarily closed following an executive order from the state of Pennsylvania to halt any non-life-sustaining business. During the temporary closure of our Greensburg factory, all orders will be routed to our factory in Henderson, NV. We are working to increase our production capacity in Henderson. Please note that the increased workload will affect our production times and orders may experience a slight delay. Thank you in advance for your understanding during this turbulent time.

We will temporarily suspend our promotions feature. While promotions drive sales— for the time being we want to ensure orders are fulfilled in a timely manner and are manageable for our hard-working staff in the Henderson factory. Don’t fret—the promotions feature will be restored and operating in its full glory eventually.

Certain products will be temporarily unavailable. Our factory in Henderson, NV has different machinery than our factory in Greensburg. Because of this, certain products with complex printing processes will be paused for the time being. If you think this may affect you, take a look at the products below. You can click on the link to see the exact products affected.

These products include:

• All posters (product ID’s: 1300, 1301, 1302, 1303, 1306, 1307, 1316, 1317, 1318)
• All colored coffee/tea mugs (product ID’s: 949, 1134)
• All hats & bags that require a laser transfer printing technique (product ID’s: 129, 803, 1040, 636, 1445, 1441, 1430, 1442, 1157,
• The waist apron (Product ID 1443)
• The 32×20 pillowcase (Product ID 914)

March 19^th, 2020:

Due to the fact that Spreadshirt is an e-commerce company, we feel very fortunate to say that our digital store fronts will be able to remain open during this difficult time. We are assessing the situation daily and taking the necessary precautions to ensure we can meet our customers’ and designers’ needs while protecting our employees.

Updates for our European Platform

Delivery time has been prolonged by two days to every country, as we are encountering delays at the borders. Estimated delivery times for your customers can be viewed here.

In the unfortunate scenario that additional production sites are affected, we are prepared to take all necessary steps to protect our employees and to prevent the spread of the virus. As of March 17^th, there are no problems at our European production sites or offices.

Health & safety of our employees

Our employees are what make our company so great. From our headquarters to our factories, we would like to share with you the steps we are taking to protect them and to do our part in preventing the spread of the virus. For starters, we are taking all steps recommended by public health officials, such as paying extra attention to hygiene and being mindful of even mild symptoms. We have had travel restrictions in place since March 3^rd. we This means we have cancelled any business-related travel and all events or large gatherings in our various offices throughout the world. We have also encouraged employees to work from home office. These measures are updated frequently and assessed daily by management.

We have introduced new, staggered shift hours to reduce physical contact between factory employees and allows fresh air to circulate in order to reduce the risk of airborne transmission. We have similar measures in place for both receiving and shipping. For example, drivers will unpack the whole truck before employees will come to collect the goods from the ramps.

Because of these unpredictable times, please take into account that orders and demand may temporarily drop until conditions are normalized.

We all share a responsibility in reducing the impact of COVID-19. Spreadshirt is embracing this responsibility and taking necessary actions. We remain alert and ready to take the necessary steps and action in light of any new developments.
